Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-04-25
About this service
WhereIsDNS is a free, ad-supported web tool that performs DNS lookups across 12 public DNS resolvers and displays the results. By using the service you agree to these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to attack, overwhelm, or abuse third parties — including the public DNS resolvers we query on your behalf.
- Automate the service in a way that exceeds reasonable rate limits or interferes with normal use by others.
- Use the service to violate applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Attempt to bypass security measures, disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer the underlying infrastructure.
We reserve the right to rate-limit, restrict, or block traffic that we believe in good faith violates these terms.
No warranty
WhereIsDNS is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. DNS results may be incomplete, stale, cached, or geographically biased depending on the resolver. Do not rely on this tool as the sole basis for production decisions.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhereIsDNS, its operators, and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Third-party services
WhereIsDNS displays advertisements via Google AdSense and is hosted on Cloudflare. Your use of those services is also governed by their respective terms — see our Privacy Policy for links.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
